Sage ERP X3 expands into the cloud

Next generation of leading solution now offers mid-market customers more choice, speed and usability

The Sage Group plc, one of the world’s leading suppliers of business management software and services, now offers mid-market businesses even more usability and mobility with its announcement of Sage ERP X3 Online.

Sage research shows that mid-market businesses have three clear priorities: winning new customers, reducing operating costs and growing revenue. As a cloud solution, Sage ERP X3 Online is aimed at businesses who value the ease of deployment, accessibility, simple management and low cost of ownership of an online service, without compromising the functionality and scalability of Sage ERP X3 version 7.

Sage ERP X3 version 7 now has usability and mobility at its core, allowing mid-sized organisations the ability to get more done faster and on the move, therefore helping to reduce costs and win new business.

With a completely new, intuitive and collaborative web interface based on HTML5 which supports multiple browsers and user personalisation Sage ERP X3 version 7 also offers mobile access and a host of web apps, as well as Microsoft Office integration and an all-new powerful search function. The Sage ERP X3 platform was developed using cloud native technologies such as HTML5, MongoDB, Elastic Search, JSON and Node.js.

“Our research shows that three-quarters (76%) of businesses are considering investing in cloud-based business software in future, demonstrating a clear demand and understanding of the benefits of cloud across the mid-market,” said Christophe Letellier, CEO, Sage ERP X3. “We’ve developed a cloud version of our Sage ERP X3 version 7 technology which will help customers grow forward with even faster, simpler ERP.”

Sage ERP X3 Online will initially be launched in North America in a controlled release in September, before being rolled out globally.

“North America businesses are one of the leading adopters of cloud technology right now,” said Joe Langner, executive vice president and general manager, mid-market solutions for Sage North America. “That’s why we’re rolling out our cloud version of Sage ERP X3 in this market first. Businesses now have a choice in how they wish to set up and pay for their business management system. Sage ERP X3 Online is the next logical step in our continued commitment to give businesses choice and the confidence to grow their business.”

“I think we are all aware that when it comes to cloud computing demand in Africa lags the demand in North America and Europe, however, Sage is already experiencing demand for Cloud based ERP that we are providing as a privately hosted service,” said Jeremy Waterman, Managing Director for Sage ERP Africa and the Middle East, “so its very exciting and timely that Sage ERP Cloud is now launching in North America with the intention to toll this out globally.”
