As from the 1st August 2013, The MediaShop will be Nedbank’s media agency of choice.
The four way pitch asked for a detailed approach outlining strategy, planning, buying as well as African expertise. “Needless to say we employed our full resources on the pitch, with a total team of 19 specialists working on the brief before four of us presented to Nedbank’s procurement team,” says The MediaShop’s Group MD Chris Botha. “Our previous banking experience and knowledge of the financial services sector was invaluable in making it happen.”
The MediaShop is the longest serving media specialist in South Africa, formed in 1988. Over the years, billing has grown to over R4 billion annually, making The MediaShop, arguably, one of South Africa’s largest buyers of media space, with a national market share of between 12% and 15%.
“We’re very excited about being afforded the opportunity to work with an amazing organisation like Nedbank and are proud and honoured to be selected as their preferred partner. The agency is really looking forward to the challenge of making Nedbank’s media stand out in what is a very tough and cluttered environment,” says Chris.
Over the past 12 months The MediaShop’s business has grown significantly. In April this year the agency was named Media Agency of the Year at AdReview 2014, a win that was on the back of winning the Financial Mail AdFocus Media Agency of the Year in November 2013. Prior to that a slew of awards was won including the MOST Award’s Full Service Media Agency of the Year and Overall Media Agency of the Year award in September 2013, for the third consecutive year.
