Demonstrating its technical proficiency and knowledge of the business management solutions space – as well as its commitment to South Africa’s socio-economic development, Accsys has confirmed the rollout of Accsys Peopleware Time & Attendance system at the SOS Children’s Village, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) based in Johannesburg.
The NGO helps approximately 6500 children across South Africa and is run by a staff compliment of 28.
Until recently the NGO managed staff attendance using manual processes, which was time-consuming and not always accurate. Aside from the immediate need to manage its staff effectively, an improved system was required in order to help comply with HR regulation.
As an NGO, SOS Children’s Village did not have surplus funds from which to source and acquire an effective T&A solution. It sought out the services of Accsys, a member of the Business Connexion Group (BCX) and a national supplier of people management software and hardware solutions within the HR, payroll and time & attendance space.
The Sandton-based company is a reseller of Suprema products, distributed in Africa by neaMetrics. Suprema is an established provider of biometric recognition and identity management solutions, including access control/ time & attendance products such as the BioLite Net.
This is a range of robust, stand-alone clocking terminals designed for ease-of-use and to automate access control and T&A.
Walter Rautenbach, CEO of neaMetrics, says, “We believe that the youth are South Africa's future and recognize the important role SOS Children’s Village plays, so when approached by Accsys to assist in this worthwhile initiative we were keen to give a hand. In this light neaMetrics has donated all the Suprema readers required for the project. "
"Ongoing research and development has improved access to next-generation time and attendance and access control technology and this is empowering businesses and organisations across the spectrum of South Africa’s socio-economic landscape," said Rautenbach.
Yvonne Stiglingh, Head of Fund Development and Communication at the national office of SOS Children’s Village, explains: “There is an intricate and detailed requirement to manage people legally and compliance is critical to any venture or organisation. Furthermore, we know that by using an automated system to carefully manage processes boosts efficiency, which leads to cost saving. This enables an organisation, such as ourselves, to apply resources more effectively and help to grow.”
Teryl Schroenn, CEO of Accsys, said the company is in a position to empower organisations through proven solutions, service and support.
”This specific request appealed to us because we knew that through our involvement, along with that of our client, we had the opportunity to assist management at this NGO and, in so doing, make the lives of over six thousand children a little easier. We will also look at the possibility of introducing our internship program, which is a further investment into the future of this country,” said Schroenn.
