The European Festival of Creativity, eurobest, is now accepting entries into the 2015 awards. The names of 12 jury presidents who will meet in Antwerp to lead juries and decide on Europe’s greatest creative work have been released.
Entries will be accepted across 18 categories, including Healthcare and Creative Effectiveness which have been launched this year. Festival Director, Louise Benson, said that the addition of these categories ensured that eurobest was reflective of current issues. “Using creativity within the strictly regulated world of healthcare and the effect that creativity can have on a business are both areas of discussion that are very much at the forefront at the moment. By introducing Healthcare and Creative Effectiveness we hope to provide some benchmarking and insight into Europe’s performance in these key areas, while also celebrating those already leading the charge.”
The jury presidents across 17 of the categories are now confirmed, about which Philip Thomas, CEO, Lions Festivals, commented, “It’s an outstanding collection of individuals from across Europe and further afield; entrants will feel privileged to have their work judged by some of the industry’s greatest achievers.”
Branded Content & Entertainment Jury President:
Mark Eaves, Founder, Gravity Road, UK
“This is the category where all the excitement lies right now: the world of advertising bridging into the world of entertainment. I’m hoping to see ambitious creative work that stands comparison with the best entertainment in the world right now, beyond merely the world of brands."
Design Jury President:
Sandra Planeta, Founder /Creative Director, Planeta Design, Sweden
“I think design is about evoking emotion that triggers and sparks an action. It's about communication, transformation, problem solving and bring order to chaos. I'm really excited and looking forward to see work from great designers that can change behaviours and who understand the Power of Design!”
Digital and Mobile Jury President:
James Kirkham, Global Head Social & Mobile, Leo Burnett, Global
"Mobile is often underrated and overlooked, which has never made any sense to me as it is the most ubiquitous medium in the world. At eurobest we champion mobile and aim to show that it is not only extremely powerful but can inspire creativity like no other. I'm expecting this year's crop of entries will continue to move the mobile category forward."
Direct Jury President:
Chacho Puebla, Chief Creative Officer & Partner, Lola / Mullen Lowe Group, Spain
“I feel glad to be chosen as a President of the jury of such a recognised festival. Especially in this category, which is going to change peoples’ lives substantially in the near future.”
Film Craft Jury President:
Christiane Dressler, Founder, ANORAK Film
“Looking at last years’ exceptional winners and how relevant they stayed throughout the year, I am truly excited to be part of this festival.”
Film, Print, Print & Poster Craft and Integrated Jury President:
Ben Priest, Founder & Chief Creative Officer, adam&eveDDB, UK
“Last year we were lucky enough to be named eurobest Agency of the Year and I’m hoping for an equally exciting experience in 2015 as Jury President. The Festival comes at the end of the year and it’s the perfect chance to look back at the very best work our industry has produced. I can’t wait to get started.”
Healthcare Jury President:
Mike Rogers, Creative Partner, Serviceplan Health & Life, Germany
“With Health Lions leading the way and changing out-dated perceptions of healthcare communication on a global scale, I’m excited to see the work of Europe’s brightest making great strides too.”
Innovation Jury President:
Diederik Veelo, Founder, The Ambassadors Lab
"Innovation is that tiny piece of fairy dust that will magically transform a problem into a solution. It’s that one clever ingredient that can turn things around completely. Having the honour to recognise and celebrate true innovation is something extremely precious to me and I hope will inspire many around us."
Media Jury President:
Anne-Cecile Michaud, Global Chief Strategy Officer, Havas Media Group, Global
"We need to celebrate ideas, ideas that generate real business impact more than 1000000000 likes and ideas that move people. Because technology, data and content, which are now at the core of the media industry, should support ideas and emotion. This is not innovation for the sake of innovation but innovation to deliver meaningful connections. This is what I expect to reward and discuss with the jury members."
Outdoor and Radio Jury President:
Jens Mortier, Partner & Creative Director, mortierbrigade, Belgium
'We will be looking for radio we've never heard before, and outdoor that we’ve never seen before."
PR Jury President:
Marta Karlqvist, President Nordics, Cohn & Wolfe, Sweden
“I’m incredibly honoured to have been invited to lead the PR jury at eurobest. As part of the jury last year I was struck by the excellence in creativity and the impact of many of the campaigns, and am certain this year will be no different. I am excited to view and reward work that is truly innovative, original and engaging, and that helps deliver ROI for clients.”
Promo & Activation Jury President:
Geoffrey Hantson, Chief Creative Officer, Happiness, Belgium
“Action speaks louder than words. I believe that more than ever brands can no longer limit themselves to saying what they do. They also have to do what they say. And be interesting instead of loud. I’m really looking forward and I feel very honoured to define, together with my fellow jury members, which brands and which campaigns show the most understanding of this new era.”
eurobest will take place in Antwerp from 1-3 December and see three days of carefully curated content and networking alongside the awards, which will celebrate the best in European creative communications. Entries can now be submitted via www.eurobest.com.
