Transit media specialist Brandyourcar.com is running its third campaign for office and school stationery manufacturer, Pentel.
“The new campaign sees a shift in focus from the student to the corporate market, and runs for a period of three months with Sandton as its central hub,” says Brandyourcar.com’s Jeff Ostrom.
He explains that high mileage drivers, from all over Johannesburg, who drive to Sandton, Rosebank, Rivonia or Bryanston daily were selected by Brandyourcar.com to ensure that Pentel remains top-of-mind in the corporate market.
Drivers were given a whole box of EnerGel pens to use and distribute within their offices and to interested people who engaged with them along the way.
“Pentel wanted a novel way to cut through the out of home media clutter to ensure corporate consumer engagement with its brand. Brandyourcar.com filled this gap by ensuring eye-catching branding on red vehicles only – Pentel’s corporate colour - and a social media campaign that not only offers unique content and great prizes, but also ensures personal endorsement of the brand,” says Ostrom.
“The vehicles are all red, upper-end, smart hatchbacks, thus also tying into the Pentel brand which is known as ‘South Africa’s leading stationery expert’,” he adds.
Driver Michelle Govender says of her brand ambassador experience: “Many people at my workplace, who have spotted my new Pentel branded car have approached me and wanted to know more about the campaign. I was able to share the Pentel samples with them at the same time.” Ostrom reckons this just testifies to the fact that these branded cars do start a conversation.
The campaign, including the social media element, stimulates conversation around Pentel’s EnerGel pens and its extended product range.
